Here are some tips to make your first appointment as easy as 1-2-3.
Before Your First Visit
Talk to your child about their upcoming visit in a positive way and remember to use your Kid Friendly Words!
This helps build anticipation of this important part in growing up and gives your little one the opportunity to ask questions, if they're able to.
During Your First Visit
You're encouraged to be present during your son or daughter's first visit.
You're an important part of a successful appointment because your confidence and trust in our care will be sensed by your child.
First, we'll perform a complete oral examination. Dental radiographs (x-rays) will be taken to help identify cavities and other conditions that can't be seen by a visual examination alone.
Then, together, we'll develop a comprehensive treatment plan for your child.
Throughout your visit, we'll introduce all aspects of dentistry in a positive way by explaining, then showing, then doing, and always use our kid-friendly words.
After Your First Visit

Fees, Insurance & Payment
Next, we'll settle the fees for your visit.
Our fees follow the BC Pediatric Specialists Fee Guide, and is a reflection of the specialized care we provide your children - and the extra training, experience and time this requires. We believe that children are special people, and they deserve the best care possible.
In most cases, we'll bill your insurance company directly so you'll only pay the difference at the end of your visit.
In cases where your insurance company does not allow direct billing, you'll pay in full. We'll generate your claim forms electronically so you can quickly sign and submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Most dental plans don't cover 100% of the fees. Similarly, government-sponsored insurance programs don't pay the full cost of your child’s dental treatment. Please check with your insurance provider for the details of your policy, and ask any questions you may have.
For fees not covered by your insurance policy, we accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, cash and Interac Direct Payment.
